| About the speaker: |
Dr Paul Marshall is Director of the Climate Change Group in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority. His work with a range of scientific, government and non-government organisations has focussed on improving knowledge about the implications of climate change for coral reef ecosystems.
He plays a key role in national and international initiatives to adapt coral reef management in the face of climate change. He is co-founder of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Working Group on Climate Change and Coral Reefs.
He has published numerous scientific papers, book contributions and reports on coral bleaching and climate change impacts on tropical marine ecosystems, including the two milestone publications: A Reef Manager’s Guide to Coral Bleaching and Climate Change and the Great Barrier Reef – A Vulnerability Assessment.
