Welcome to the FCA
You have found the home of the Foreign Correspondents' Association (FCA), established in 1985 to promote the professional interests of foreign journalists based in Australia and the South Pacific and who represent overseas news organizations.
The FCA has over 100 media members, plus associate members who include government, business and diplomatic representatives. We also have sponsors who provide the FCA with venues for events, access to stories around Australia, invitations to cover conferences and academic events in various states, plus top contacts in Australian business, industry and government.

ROAD OF DETERMINATION Suggan Buggan is a tiny mountain town on a 77-km long back alpine road called the Barry Way, near the New South Wales and Victoria border, on the edge of the Snowy Mountains. Don Fuchs travelled to this wild and lonely part of the country recently and found out about the determination of the people who live along the road. COOL CARS AND HOT BALLOONS The Hotel Cairns recently hosted a visit  to Cairns by five FCA members, who were treated to Smart cars, a Hot Air Balloon Ride and Champagne Breakfast Morning Tour, Great Barrier Reef and magnificent rainforest visits, learning from Indigenous experts how to survive in the local habitat in the traditional way and many other adventures. MARIA ISLAND ADVENTURE: Hobart’s harbour-side sailors, fishermen, tourists in fleecy jackets and hiking boots, salty air, sandstone buildings and the sharp light of autumn all helped to give Joëlle Glas the impression of being at the last stop before Antarctica, but she was really at the beginning of a five-day visit to Tasmania for the Maria Island Walk.
