JORGE BECHARA is a Sydney-based photojournalist hailing from Brazil. He has been covering events in the South Pacific for publications in Europe, South America and Australia. His work has been published in The Australian, The Australian Financial Review Magazine, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Sunday Telegraph (UK), Condé Nast Traveller, The Economist, Tages-Anzeiger, O Estado de São Paulo. He specialises in shooting documentaries. In May 2003, he travelled 1,420km, photographing the construction of the Alice Springs to Darwin Railway line. Here are some shots from his memorable journey.
